I have a 3.5hp B&S edger, engine will not start. I cleaned out the carburetor, and gas tank. New plug as well. It fires but will not stay running?

I have a B&S 3.5hp edger and the engine will not start. I cleaned out the carburetor and gas tank, as well as put in a new plug. Its starts but sputter out and will not continue to run.

It would depend on the exact engine as to whether your machine uses engine vacuum alone to feed the fuel or utilizes a diaphragm to pump it into a reservoir. Please provide the engine numbers, usually point upwards on the blower housing. Should probably be a five digit Model, hyphenated six digit Type and eight digit Code.
