I have a contract on a home. One of the items I noticed is one of the shower heads has been capped off. Nothing was mentioned in the disclosure about an issue. When asked about the capped shower, I was told it was so grandchildren wouldn't turn on the water and saturate the items (boxes) being stored in the shower. I'm not sure I'm buying that excuse. What other reasons could there be and am I going to find a can of worms when I move in? Inspection has already been done, but inspector mentioned he was unable to test shower due to cap and stored items. Thanks

Hi Chris& Kitty and Welcome to The Plumbing Page at AMHD.com. You're responding to a 6 year old dead thread so I gave you one of your own. Please check the dates of the thread before you post. Thanks

Tell me more about this "cap". Is it a threaded nipple with a threaded cap on the end? It doesn't make much sense to disable a shower to store boxes. Someone owes you a chrome shower arm and head. If you can't get any satisfaction from the plumber contact the plumber and complain. Let me know how you make out. Good luck, Tom

If the contract was contingent on the inspection results, you should have the leverage you need to get this issue corrected.
