I installed brand new tub with toe touch drain, drain closes fine, but is almost impossible to open. Removed drain plug unit and unit is extremely difficult to get it to click to open, yet clicks to close (stop drainage) every time. I happen to have another toe touch drain plug/unit from another project (different style) and it has the same characteristics, clicks to close easily, but is almost impossible to get it to click to open (drain position). The toe touch drain system seems to be designed like an ink pen that clicks in and out... but I cannot figure out why I cannot get it to work properly. Any suggestion how to fix this problem?

The toe stopper should have "open" on one side and "close" on the opposite side. So to open it, do not push down in the center of the stopper but on the side of the stopper that says "open". To close it, you should also press down but simultaneously pushing down on the side that says "close". It's a tilt concept, tilting to one side closes it as you press down. The tilt of the opposite side makes the stopper pop open.
There are some models that you press the center to close and open. In that case they have an adjustment which you can view at http://youtu.be/vkO6xcZnjIs

Can you return the stopper ? Looks like you were sold a bad one. Good luck, Tom
