My Packard Bell Diamond 1200 Plus scanner will not work with my Windows 7 laptop. Windows says that there is no driver available. I have asked Packard Bell and they sent me a link which does not work. The customer service form will not accept the reference number I have been given. I have searched on Google but without success. Can anyone help, or have I got to throw the scanner away?

You can try creating a Virtual PC using WinXP and run the scanner under that. Otherwise, without a Win 7 driver it won't work.

Why throw it away? You can probably get an older PC with XP on it for really cheap. Heck I've pulled a few out of the trash that worked fine after putting a hard drive in (most people pull the drive before throwing them out). Or ask around at work or whatever if anyone has one they don't want. I love my Canoscan scanner and it doesn't have 7 drivers, but I can still use it cause I still have XP too.

Load the older drivers under compatability mode....then it will work.
