Are you okay? Chances are your baby is too. Why you would do that baffles me and it is dangerous, but your baby is pretty resilient.

A little lesson. When you breath it takes blood that has low oxygen and exposes it to the open air, the air you breathed in. Carbon dioxide goes out oxygen comes in. The same things happens around the placenta except is a blood-blood exchange instead of a blood/air. The blood oxygen levels need to be really low for them to start dong serious damage. It is the slush built into the system.

The body has a good number of ways of making sure it has enough oxygen too. You couldn't hold your breath for more then a minute. Your body just forced yourself to breath. If you are more bloody minded you will pass out and lose control of your breathing, which is to say you will start again. Which is why when a child holds a temper tantrum and holds their breath you can just laugh at them.

I must emphasize that this is a VERY dangerous activity and you shouldn't do it often. You and your baby should be fine, just don't chance it again. If you do pass out you could hurt yourself and in turn your child.
