I have an outside garden tap that I thought was turned off the last time I used the hose connected to it. I have never turn it fully on but the other day noticed that the tap was still on and it was only the attached hose from stopping water flowing out. I tried to turn the tap off but it just won't budge at all. Any advice or do I need to get the tap completely replaced?

Thanks in advance

A lot of houses have a secondary valve inside the basement that allows the outside to be drained in freezing weather... but that tends to be in the colder climates. Without seeing it to know exactly why its frozen up... replacement might be the only option. Unless you have a secondary shutoff inside... I'd recommend not manhandling it to see if that might break it loose. Things can go from bad to worse pretty fast.

Thanks for that but in Australia so it isn't the cold doing it, that's for sure. Appreciate the suggestion.

Good to know that anyway. Where I'm at we are just entering winter and it does get cold enough to freeze outside faucets.

Greetings from sunny Florida. We are in our nicest month at this time.
This garden tap Of yours, is the handle stuck so tight won't turn or when you close it. Tight it will lock and still leak? Let me know, back to you, Tom
