My probation has been done and over for almost a year know. I was pulled over in Beverly Hills for a DUI. Although it was not in their jurisdiction they filed a police record 'arrested for DUI'. My lawyer got it down to a 'speeding contest' in the court of Los Angeles.

So how can I get the 'arrest' record expunged?

The reason in most cases it won't be...is probation is the result of a conviction....be it a pea bargain or a court ordered punishment.

You plead out on that charge.....that is something they won't expunge. It will remain on your record. You plead down to a speeding contest.....

Hello k:

So how can I get the 'arrest' record expunged? In the law, words matter. Arrests simply aren't expungible. Only convictions are. Apparently, you were convicted of something, but I've never heard of a charge called "speeding contest". In any case, it sounds like it's a traffic infraction, and that's NOT expungible.

Be aware that MOST background checks won't report arrests, anyway. Convictions are what matters.
