Our situation is this... legal aid is solving the "divorce" part, cheap and easy... sign here.. lol... well maybe not that easy.
However now my man needs to see a "real" lawyer to settle the property part of things... I think he shouldn't sign off on the divorce until he's seen a lawyer for the property settlement, because... what leverage will he have then... she can drag property settlement for years. Argh!! I don't know however... so does anyone know about this part?
Most divorces come with prop sett... but it's being done cheaper this way... please respond with any knowledge you might have
Thanks

Most property settlements are split on a 50/50 basis unless children are involved. I went through a no fault divorce where my ex and I sat down with a counselor and decided what was going where and who got what. This was written up in our separation agreement and became the basis of the divorce settlement.

If "your man" and his ex have not done this, then I would advise seeing the lawyer.
