Hey guys... great community! I'd love the answer to this question knowing I won't blow myself up. I've got a new house with a new stove and I need to make them work together.

This is the plug for my stove:

I now have this, that fits my stove plug:

I took off the plate (after turning off the power at the breaker) and have these wires:

Can I just hook the 3 wires (positive, neutral, and ground) into the corresponding spots on the new plug and hook it up to the stove?

Will I blow myself up?

If you could get 4 conductors to the Stove would be best, That way the Ground and Neutral would be separate, as they shold have been for years.
Since its not new or remodel.
I would Install a 3 Conductor Cord, and use receptacle setup you have.
You need To be sure the Strap that goes to the center terminal, and the body of the Stove are Intact.
Can you provide a picture of the Stoves Terminals?

Leave the old receptacle alone.
Replace the cord to match it.

You do not have the right cable for a 4-wire receptacle, and no, you cannot simply add a ground.
