Hi Sarahsarah

Exactly what did you cement up... a sink drain or an entire house?

You are probably OK since this is most likely a drain system, never saw ABS on a house supply. The real problem is joining PVC and ABS pipes. That is a code violation.

It is not a good practice to use the wrong cement on plastic pipes.
Oatey makes a cement that works on both ABS and PVC, regards, Tom

It will hold and joint will most-likely not leak. However, and of course, it is not the glue you should have used. You should always use a glue as suggested by the pipe manufacturer.

If it is in exposed area, I would not worry too much about it... If it is in enclosed area, and you live in a brand new house or in earthquake zone - than I would cut the fitting out and reinstalled new one using the proper glue...

Back to you... Milo
