My great grandfather was an etcher born in Paris in 1851. I have one of his etchings which is of a French soldier on a war horse with amazing detail. It is signed "d'apres Ed. Detaille" and signed by him: Edouard Junet, 1914. I'm trying to find out more about him and even hope to locate more of his etchings. I was told by my mother, aunts and uncles that he had his work in the Louvre and Orsay, but I was just in Paris and had no luck locating even his name.
Is there anyone who can give me a lead?
