Why am I so emotional? I'm a 16 year old female. I'm not pregnant or anything like that. Please answer this as soon as possible. It's really bothering me. I need to know what's wrong with me.

You may need to talk to a counselor to figure out what is bothering you.

Or a check of your hormones to make sure there are no balance issues to be addressed by your family physician. Have you talked to your mom? What's going on in your life?

You're 16. Your body is going through major changes, and it's not easy. Most teen girls have mood swings, feel up and down. I remember when I was 16 I cried for 2 hours after a kleenex commercial. It wasn't a sad commercial at all, just something about it made me cry for no reason at all.

Now, if you're having thoughts of harming yourself because of this, talk to your doctor. You could be suffering from depression, like many of the people in the world today, myself included. There are medications that help.

You don't necessarily need therapy, but if these outbursts become serious, I'd look into it. But first talk to your doctor about this. Go from there.

But really, at your age, this is really common.
