Hi. I have an issue and I'm just trying to find an answer. For the past, I'd say two years, I've had really odd periods. They would last three days, and I would hardly bleed. Well, about six months ago I started having pelvic pains, and spotting between periods.. but only when I wipe. About five days ago, the pelvic pain became so severe, I went to the E.R. and was diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis, PID and I'm still waiting on the STD results. I was prescribed Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg Cap, and Metronidazole 500mg tablet to treat the infections. I have two days of medication left, there's no discharge, and no more smell, but I'm still bleeding. I was wondering if anyone could tell me why?

Since the ER only deals with immediate issues. And not routine stuff... have you talked about this with, or even seen your Gynecologist the last two years?

It's time to see your Gynecologist. Like Smoothy said, the ER only deals with the immediate problem you came in with. You need your doctor to run tests, possibly including an ultrasound. They usually don't do that at the ER.
