Hello. I have unscrewed the kitchen light and am trying to replace it with another. Basically, a blue and a black wire were connected together, a yellow and green cased wire was in the middle and a yellow wire was the 3rd. My problem is which wire is live and which is neutral? I would be grateful for some help.
Thank you

Normally green is ground. Black is hot. Which would leave yellow for neutral.

Voltage testers are very inexpensive and colorblind like electricity...
A small price to take away the guess work...

Those are somewhat strange wire colors to see in a house. Where are you located? Is this an old loft apartment? Harbor Freight has VOM testers for $5. Neon testers are even less.
