I am returning to my home country from a year abroad in the USA, my boss says I can continue to do some work remotely from abroad.
Is this permissible in US immigration Law?
Can I continue to receive pay via my American checking account?
Thank you

American Immigration law does not apply since you are now living in your own country, This is purely business and international law. There are thousands and thousands of people who live in foreign countries and work for and get paid by US companies.

Chuck is correct. It is perfectly legal.
Further, the salary is NOT subject to U.S. or state income taxes, nor do FICA (Social Security abd Medicare) taxes apply. The only taxes payable are those assessed by your home country, since that is where you will work and live.
Make sure your U.S.-based employer is aware of these facts, lest he originate a Form W-2 or Form 1099-MISC to report your salary to the IRS, which is not correct.
The correct form is Form 1042-S, which shows what he paid you abnd the fact that the salary is tax exempt under tax treaty.
