How do you find the magnitude and direction of unknown forces for a concurrent force system in equilibrium?

For a 2-dimensional problem you have three equations of equilibrium:

\sum F_x = 0\\
\sum F_y = 0\\
\sum M = 0

use these to determine the unknown force and/or moment that keeps the system in equilibrium.
