I am not spending my money on designer clothing and the latest electronic devices. I am spending money on things to help me further my education. I usually spend anywhere from 20-40 dollars a week, I know it doesn't seem like a huge amount of money, but it eventually adds up. I work fulltime so I earn more then what I spend. My parents have always told me and my siblings not to splurge on luxury items. I am usually tight with my money... and I feel guilty for spending small amounts of money.

What are you spending this money on? (to further your education?)

Splurging money would be spending over what something you could get cheaper but as good of quality. Spending money on frivolous things you don't need. Buying a bunch of something you don't need such as a bunch of TV's. If you feel you made good choices and what you bought are useful things then most likely you haven't splurged. If you are able to save money and are budgeting then you probably aren't splurging.

$20 - 40/wk for things to 'further my education' sounds like a lot to me. I can't imagine what they are, unless you buy a lot of books, or are developing a trade skill like carpentry/woodworking. Even then I wouldn't spend more than that a month. So... what are you buying?
