Okay, I'm just trying to find a laptop for just my needs. Basically just for games, movies, and school work. It don't need to be the best just the cheepest one for the above. Thanks

Lot of variables there... used thrift store ones when you find them are as cheap as they come... but with a risk... you can get a new Chromebook for as cheap as $200 but you have somewhat limited functionality without wifi access.

And they go up from there.

Games and movies are going to need a lot more powerful hardware to run.. and that means a lot more money.

When you say "games" it really opens up all kinds of problems.

Are you talking about FPS games? Puzzle games? Facebook games?

I have a Dell Inspiron that is now several years old. I need a new one because the fan inside this model (1764) is very hard to get to to clean, and it overheats because I haven't cleaned it, ever.
I plan to bid on eBay about $350 on an almost new model, used, preferably i5 and at least 2 Ghz. But you could get one for 200 or 250, a very good used one, like an i3 and 1.7 Ghz. Maybe 4 to 6 GB RAM.
They all pretty much have a large capacity hard drive, 3 USB ports, a disk drive, a webcam, a backlit LED screen of 14 to 15"... not much more to worry about. A battery, if you want to use it without an outlet.

(The Chromebook is cheap but requires a subscription to the Cloud.)
