I am 20 years old, and was due for my period the 17th of August. Today is the 20th. Around the 17th I experienced mild cramping and thought I was going to start my period at any moment (because its normal for me to cramp right before I start) I did late that day after using the restroom and experiencing mild cramping, wipe and have very light blood (almost looked like old blood brownish-orangish) on the paper but only that one time. I still since then experience mild- light cramping every now and then throughout the day. Mostly very early morning to mid evening time. I am actually RIGHT NOW experiencing light cramping that spikes to a mild cramp very quickly and then quickly goes back to just the uncomfortable light cramp but again NO PERIOD. I decided to Google my situation and most every source I am finding is saying things about being pregnant. I am wondering how common this is in early stages and want to hear other experiences or get advice. My husband and I have had unprotected sex for years and I have never gotten pregnant. My mother had told me about how she had a tilted Uterus and could not get pregnant with my sister and I unless she stayed elevated after. Well because I hadn't gotten pregnant, I figured I was the same. My husband and I are not trying to have a baby right now so I have never elevated after intercourse, but if it were to happen it would not be a problem. We are just going with the flow.
I was just wondering if anyone had an opinion or advice before I hurry out the door to buy expensive tests to take in the morning lol. How long should I wait?
Thank you!

3 days late is not really even considered late, it is more normal for many women to be a few days late or early at times. There is nothing to do now but wait, you need to ait till you are 2 week late, to test (using the first urine of the morning)
Also just because your mom is a certain way, does not mean you are, in fact it is unlikely, and most likely you have just been lucky (or unlucky) not to be pregnant.
Only a real exam can tell you if you are.

Well, I appreciate you response, I am now 4-5 days late (technically with how my cycles go, I figured I should have started the 16th not the 17th. And I was pondering on all of my husband and I's intimate dates and looked up a ovulation calendar. We actually were having intercourse on the most fertile days in the end of June. And I would technically be missing this period if we conceived over that time. And about the tilted uterus thing, I want a baby so bad it is not "lucky" at all lol. And thinking back over the time we had intercourse while I was fertile, I was elevated one of those times.. ( sorry if TMI) So I will just continue to hope. I haven't experienced much cramping today except for early this morning and then mid morning time, I haven't felt cramping for about an hour now. But it has been fading off and on. I still have tender breasts. Hubby and I talked about it and have decided to wait to test, I was really just wondering if cramping is in fact an early "normal" thing to experience in the first stages of pregnancy for some people.

Cramping is indeed normal for some women. With all three of my pregnancies I felt as if my period were coming on, had period like cramps, but no period. But cramping can also mean that you're getting your period. In other words, it's a pretty poor symptom to base anything on.
Wait the 2 weeks, then test using first morning urine.
Good luck. :)
