If you are starting to menstruate, eva, it can't be anything else but your period starting. Can you not discuss this with your mother instead of asking here from strangers ?

For many years after you start menstruating, your period will likely not be regular. There are days when you'll have a heavy flow, for over a week, and other days when you'll barely have enough to fill a pad and it will last only a day.
Your period should regulate more as you get older.
Wearing a panty liner is never a bad idea at this age, since you won't know with any certainty when your period will come, and what it will be like. It's better to be prepared than embarrassed.
Have you discussed this with your mom? She should know about this.

That's what first periods do -- stop and start. It might be heavy one month and barely dribbling another month. Some young women have horrible cramps and others fly through those days with no problem. There might be early cramps and crabbiness or maybe not.
Your mom is the best person to talk with about this. She's been having periods since she was 11 or 12 or 13 and should have things pretty well figured out by now (and will know if what you are ever experiencing needs medical attention). I was shy and embarrassed too and didn't want to talk to my mom, but was glad when I did. It made me feel so much better!
