I saw a film - could have been a movie or a TV show in the early 1960's. We had a black and white TV, so I don't know if it was in color or not. The film totally traumatized me. The end of the story was a family - father, sons and a mother. Someone had done something wrong and each family member was putting their hand in a jar of acid as punishment. As I recall, the jar was a clear mason jar, used for canning. I think the people were farmers.
When this aired, we lived in rural Wisconsin and I am not even sure how many TV channels we had. I also think we bought a color TV as soon as they were readily available. Don't know if any of that helps.
Anyway, would like to re-watch the film as an adult and get over the childhood trauma. Thanks for any help.
