My Hunter fan pull cahin switch must be replaced. The existing switch is linked to a small black box. The switch has 5 wires (L/black, 1/grey, 2/green, 3/brown, 4/purple). The unit does have a separate forward/reverse swich on the housing. The switches I find for replacement have slots for 4 wires or 8 wires. The 8 slot has the top 4 numbered L,1,2,3 with an extra slot beneath each of those L,1,2,3. How do I know where to put the extra wire? I called Hunter technical support and spoke with a lady who was absolutely no help(and really rude) at all unless I was willing to order the complete control unit for the fan @$50.
