Program.exe is missing after I uninstalled XP and returned to ME?

I know it sounds strange but my computer is several years old. I have a Mavica CD camera and XP wouldn't allow one of the drivers I needed to read the CD and save my pictures into My Pictures. Error message said the driver would make Windows unsteady. I googled trying to find answers to solve my problem but none came up that would help.

My computer was infected with some bad malware and went down last fall. I had a hard time recovering and finally reinstalled ME then reinstalled XP. I had nothing but trouble from that time. Didn't make sense as previously I was using XP and my camera CD's with no trouble. I just got tired of the whole thing and decided to go back to ME (compatible with Sony Mavicia CD300).

This explains my problem a little better. If you have any advice... I'd appreciate it.

I do have a Windows 98SE disk. There is not an uninstall in Add/Remove Programs, so I guess I'll just put the 98 disk in and see what happens?
