I had my car parked in the driveway last night and this morning I noticed a screwdriver was forced into the ignition and now my car key won't work. If I report it to the PA State police as vandalism what will they do? Will they dust for prints ?

Maybe. You should report it, at least for insurance purposes. Of course that means they will have to take your prints to eliminate them.

No, most likely no one will ever come out and even look at it and they will just do a police report over the phone.

I have never known police to do any real investigation. Also what do you think they will finger print, most surfaces are not smooth, and they do not do things like you see on TV for minor crimes,
They take a report, you turn it in to your insurance company (if you are going to do that)
