I want to buy 1TB external hard disk, but I'm confused between SONY and WD - My Passport.
Please help which one to go for.

WD as SOny don't make hard drives.

In reality, buy the one you like the look of best.

External Hard Drive : Storage Media and Batteries : Sony India (http://www.sony.co.in/productcategory/sto-external-hard-drive)Only two products. I don't see much of them in retail stores.

I agree with Ben, the vendors are plenty, go with your size needs and whether you want a USB powered compact one or an external powered full size. I've seen issues with the WD MyBook products (the controller board fails) but their other products are good.

I doubt if those drives are made by Sony. They are just putting their name on them. Go with WD or Seagate.
