Good day,
We had a Chad-o-Glo gas fireplace installed in 2011. This is a South African manufactured fireplace. Please see the URL below:

Chad-O-Glo Hanging VFP511 (http://www.fireplacewarehouse.co.za/index.php/fireplaces-woodstoves/product-catalogues/chad-o-glo/product/40-chad-o-glo-hanging-vfp511)

Our fire place is wall mounted.

My problem is that our eyes burn terribly when this fireplace is on. We have gone as far as replacing the gravel like stones that came with the fire place with pebbles and this has alleviated the problem somewhat. The 'burning eyes' issue is however still present.

Could anyone assist me in advising me what might be causing this.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Regards.
Katinka.

It's not venting properly and could be short of air on the air/fuel ratio. Don't use it until you get it fixed. The burning is from acids in the air from combustion products that form sulfuric acid when the gases come in contact with water. Get a carbon monoxide detector to save your life, too.
