My husband and I have been married for 28 years. Have no children together. I have 3 children by previous marriage. We are going to a family reunion on my side and are creating a family tree. My question is do I have to add my ex husband the father of my children. They have his last name. I have my new husbands name and also how do we list it on the tree. Ex husband such and such or divorce husband such and such. Is his name after my husband before the kids.

My cousins prepared a family tree for a reunion - they indicated that "X," the wife, has 3 children, listing first names and last names. Then she has the line connecting herself to her husband, indicating no children following that.

I see no need or reason to list your "ex," nor really is it anyone's business.
