Hi I just had Cyst, wisdom tooth and molar teeth removal from bottom left portion of jaw on June 7th, 2013. First 3 days were OK and 4th day I started feeling stiff jaw and severe pain travelling to head through left ear and eye. Pain is still excruciating and impulsive on 9th day of surgery. Doc prescribed me antibiotic & Tylenol 3 and I almost took 35-40 pain killer in total with no sign of improvement in pain so far. I had been to doc for follow up and he mention about jaw myscle generating pain n its part of heeling process. Is this normal and if yes then when someone can expect reduction in pain after wisdom teeth removal?

Is the pain constant or it is occasional (whenever you open your mouth or even if you brush against your cheek) and feels like electric shocks?

I'm wondering if your trigeminal nerve has been disturbed. Mayoclinic.org, "Trigeminal nerve injury [can be] caused by stroke or dental procedures." http://www.mayoclinic.org/medicalprofs/trigeminal-nerve-pain.html

I found that taking two 1000 mcg. Of B12 (Methylcobalamin, sublingual, dissssolve in your mouth) once a day totally erased my pain, It took a few days to begin working, but I have had no problem for five years now. Before that, I was a mass of pain.

Normally its constant since 4th day of surgery and its impulsive. Generates and travel towards head and in the meantime another impulse generates so as an result its constant unless I am under influence of pain killer. One thing I noticed recently that I feel relaxed from pain for fraction of second if I open my mouth for a moment. Is it safe to take 2-1000mcg B12 when I'm on antibiotic n tylenol3?

Yes, it's a vitamin. I did not believe it would help me at all, but it was like magic! Maybe taking two a day will help you too. You might be able to take more, but start with two a day.
