I guess I cannot find anything that is the same... similar.. but the difference is that my daughter is nearly 7 and her biological father disappeared the second I said I was pregnant. Literally. I got married 3 years ago but have been with the same person since I was 3 months pregnant. She knows no other Dad. Now, I find out that he is on methamphetamine and has another daughter. I was thinking of filing child support but am afraid his mother would make him fight custody. If he still allows her that control. I don't want to confuse my daughter, but I have grown enough to realize he has ignored his responsibilities and I want her to be able to play the sports we cannot afford and have a savings account.

I guess the question I have is the likelihood they would give any amount of custody... if he was to even file it. I would really like to tell her she has a sister and not have her feel I hid it, but do not want my child to be exposed to the drugs or the hatred they have for her.

Its hard to judge, but if you can prove drug use, its possible he won't be allowed anything. At the start, he would very likely get only supervised visitation.

How would I be able to prove the drug use? Ive talked to him once in 6 years on the phone. When he was about 2 months old he called asking if I wanted to.go somewhere with him. I also saw him in person after that. Not once did he look at her or even ask about her. The only wayvi know that he's on drugs is my uncles girlfriend is best friends with his girlfriend.Ive no idea how the court system works in respect to proff. The only thing I can think that would help is track marks enough to get a drug test...

You said " I find out that he is on methamphetamine". How did you find this out? If you have enough evidence of it, you may be able to require drug testing.

Even without that, he is still unlikely to get more than supervised visits to start.

He did it visibly in front of someone. I haven't spoken to.nor seen him in a very long time. With the issues he had with air duster and things like that years ago, it wasn't surprising.

Anyway thank you for the thoughts.
