Hi there, I have an HP 1350 all in one printer that seems to work very well with one exception. When it was new I was able to print business cards on it in sheets of 10.
Now for some reason the top margin will not remain constant. If I print a sample copy on a blank sheet of paper it seems to line up properly when I overlay it on the business card stock but when I print on the business card stock the top margin shortens up by half an inch or so. The top margin is also not consistent as I can screw around with my layout and print another sheet and the top margin will have moved up or down a bit. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer a couple of times with no luck. I have also just done a complete reformat that didn't help either. Any suggestions? Thanks, Overwhelmed.

Dear Overwhelmed,

I can understand printer problems - have had many. Most printers that I have had have lasted about two years and then bit the dust.

In terms of printing out business cards, I don't use any kind of business card program or special pre-cut business card stock.

I just use Microsoft Word with text boxes and design my own cards and print them out on regular thin cardboard stock.

Then I cut them out using a cutter like the one you might have on a desk.

It is a little more hassle because of the cutting, but I don't ever have any trouble with borders or things not lining up.

Thanks Clough, it just seems if you have a product like business card blanks and programs like business card designers or Avery products that things should work as designed. Typical computer frustration. That's why I'm "Overwhelmed". Regards.
