I have 4 kids with the same father. Since 2004 I haven't received an increase on child support. I was wondering if I can apply for one now. My oldest is graduating from HS in couple of weeks and in July she will be attending college. I'm now unemployed and I'm in college myself. So I can I apply for an increase. And I live in Flushing, Queens New York.

Since it has been some time that you have been in court over the issue you can try. But in today's ecinomic times it may not garner the result your looking for. If your not working but going to college then that will be seen as willful evasion and they may choose to go by your old numbers from the previous job you have held when the numbers were run before.

Child support is normally ordered one time, with any increase in cost of living planned as part of the child support forumula. So no, usually you don't get to adjust CS every few years. It wouldn't be considered an unanticipated change in circumstances. Also, inflation has been (according to official sources, anyway) very low over the past few years, which would also be an argument against an uppward adjustment.
