I am searching for a B&W murder mystery comedy I saw on late night Pittsburgh TV show called "Shock Theater" in the 1950's. I saw the movie on new year's eve. It was the first time I was allowed to stay up past midnight, I was very young (7 or 8) so the plot details are fuzzy, but here is what I remember:
The story opened with the hero and heroine finding the same dead body in several different locations; at a party, in their car, in their home closet. They were dressed in formal evening wear.
The ending was in a warehouse loaded with bottles of wine, one of which was set to explode while being shipped on an ocean liner. The bottle had two chemicals separated by a lead shield that would dissolve during the voyage. The couple was trapped by the bad guys (I think they were Nazi saboteurs), but the hero bluffed the gang into surrender by grabbing a bottle and threatening to break it and blow them all up.
They final scene was the hero embracing the heroine and tossing the bottle against the wall, it did not explode, and the credits rolled.
