Hi doctor . I'm a female and I have a few questions regarding my hiv test results. I had an exposure to whom now highly suspect is a hiv positive man. I gave him protected oral sex and unprotected hand job and boobjob. I got semen on my hand and I'm not sure if my breasts were free of cuts from hair removal procedure either... I tested after 15 days negative and tested again after 11 weeks(77th day) I tested for hiv1/2/0 with ELI technique and it was negative and since I took the test a third world country (iran) I didn't know what test generation they use and I took another separate test for p24 Ag and they used the ECL technique... It also came as non reactive but they gave me an index of 0.449 and the test said non reactive<0.9... now my questions are:
1)I've been crazed over this index value number? Is it even important what number it is as long as it's under the cut off?
2) is ELI a more developed ELISA test?
3) I read that ECL is a western blotting test is that true? If yes since I had a non reactive of that after 11 weeks can I be sure that I'm free of hiv?
thanks for helping me
