Where I come from, when the score basically means an enemy has been taken down, we shout Owe's That!

Obama reshapes national security team, rankles GOP - CNN.com (http://edition.cnn.com/2013/06/05/politics/rice-national-security/index.html?hpt=hp_t3)

It seems BO , You remember him? Has scored a definite blow against his detractors and antagonists

Slick move ,assigning 2 key important positions to liars and flunkies who failed and promote policies that are harmful to national security . All so he can claim executive privilege when Congress attempts to haul Rice to Capitol Hill . Rice was an incompetent UN ambassador and now she will occupy the same position that Henry Kissinger once held ;that Colin Powell once held... but then again... Tom Donilon set the bar pretty low.

But Samantha Power is dangerous . She is the architect in the White House behind the whole R2P intervention policy that will end up dragging the US into the Syrian Civil War (which every day increasingly resembles the Spanish Civil War of July 1936 to April 1939,which was the prelude to WWII) .

Don't worry Tom you are no longer a middle power, you have the ability to end the Syrian conflict, but do you have the will. BO is no George Bush

I see no advantage in taking sides . The administration and McCain want to help the rebels hoping that the AQ and Brotherhood factions that have joined the opposition from outside the country won't assume control (at least McCain hopes that... not quite sure where the adm stands... they seem content to have the Brotherhood extend it's tenticles throughout the Levant and Maghreb ).

You just have to get used to it, the outcome may not be what you want, if you back the rebels you might be backing Al Qaeda but one thing is sure Assard has the support of Iran and Hezbollah so you are between a rock and a hard place, this is cold war Afghanistan all over again

the outcome may not be what you want, I'll say it again. I see no advantage in taking sides .

Unlike your CiC who seems to sit on his hands and let the Muslims do the heavy lifting. Well I suppose there is some sort of outcome out of this, strategy even, if they are fighting each other they don't have time to be fighting the US

By the way ;your Afghanistan analogy don't wash. There was no Taliban then ;there was not al Qaeda .
But back to the issue. Rice sucked as UN Ambassador ;completely over her head.. It is scary to think of her as the person that will have the President's ear on foreign policy. The best at her position frequently goes to Capitol Hill to brief the foreign policy committees. But she is in this position because she never would've gotten confirmation as Sec State . JF Kerry was the emperor's back up plan.
And Samantha Power all I can say is OMG !

Oh I don't know Assard has his faction is it any diffirent to The TALIBAN? The fact is we don't know but I'm opposed to all these Muslim extremist groups so shiia are a problem, sunni are a problem, waabbist are a problem I am content they fight among themselves but when the conflict moves to western countries I say eliminate them
