My wife and I have been cleaning a church for almost two years now. We got the job because my sister works there and they were not satisfied with their current janitor. We are contractors but they supply all supplies. We are not professionals, per se. However I feel we are not making enough but have no experience in charging the work. The church auditorium seats almost 1,000 with two balconies. Vacuumed and some sweeping and mopping weekly 4 bathrooms average of 3 stalls each. Cleaned once or twice per week. Gym over a thousand sq ft. Mopped and swept weekly. Foyer with coffee bars of maybe 500 sq ft swept mopped and buffed weekly. 1 full kitchen and two office kitchenettes cleaned weekly. 5 offices with full time staff cleaned weekly. 9 Sunday school/nursery rooms swept or vacuumed/mopped weekly. Trash twice per week that varies between 3-6 50 gallon cans each time. Each room or office has from 1-3 small trash cans and foyer with coffee bar has about 10. All areas also require dusting. 13 sets of double doors windexed weekly inside and out. Also 3 small bathrooms in offices cleaned weekly. I do not know total square footage. My wife spends 3 days per week 5 or 6 hours each and we both spend 5 or 6 hours on Saturdays. Big task... but what would you charge?
