Hi my name is Nancy I just started a cleaning business and I'm very confuse about pricing can anyone advise me please, how much do I charge or bid for apartments? How much for deep and regular cleaning in residential? And what about the common areas in apartment complex? Thank you very much I'm in Florida.

$20 an hour is the going rate in my area, which is Ontario, Canada. It can't be much different in Florida, but it may give you an idea.

You take stock of all areas of the apt. or residential home and determine how many hours it will take to clean it. Take into consideration exactly what they want done, if no dusting then that is out because that takes time moving objects to clean under, etc.

Use your best judgment in the first two or three homes, and you will soon learn to judge how much time converted into hours at $20. Hour.

I pay my cleaning lady for 2 hours and all I want her to do is vacuum and wash kitchen and bathroom floors; she will do extra but work it in those two hours like cleaning my patio doors in the kitchen. She always cleans down the counter tops, stove, etc.

I hope this helps Norma.

Commercial cleaning is much different, and I suggest you get residential cleaning under your belt before you tackle commercial because that is one flat rate depending on square footage.
