Do you own the property or renting it? The property owner has the responsibility of providing water. The hot water heater is a separate issue. Please provide more info.

I own it. Had water turned offwhen renter moved. Need to turn it & water heater back on. Don't knowhow to do it. Want to do it myself and not pay a plumber to do something simple. I know its nothing hard but I'm worried aboutmessing something up.

First things first, Let's get the pump back on line. I'm assuming this is a surface pump and not a submersible, Open up the top of the impeller cage and fill it to overflowing. If it holds water seal it back up. Now turn the power on at the breaker box. You should start to see the gage build up and you should have water,
Now the water heater, Gas or electric? I need to know. But before you do anything open a hot water faucet to be sure the tank's filled. Get back to me with the information I need and we'll get your water heater back on line. Back to you, Tom
