I've recently fallen for my scoutmaster's daughter. She will be 16 this year, and I will turn 18 in August. Will this conflict with the Missouri dating laws?

What Missouri dating laws? As far as I know there are no laws governing dating. There are, however laws governing sexual intimacy and for that the age of consent is 17.

However, there are also laws about parental interference. So its up to her parents. If they consent to your dating there is no problem as long as you don't engage in sexual activity.

I'd be inclined to do the honorable thing and ask your Scoutmaster BEFORE this goes anywhere.

'16 this year' hmmm. She's 15. You are 17.
The second you turn 18 is when you become an adult and are treated as one by the law.
Missouri allows for an exception to statutory rape if the 'victim' (in the eyes of the law) is over 14 and the accused is under 21.
However, as stated, this doesn't mean that parents or any adult can't press charges for various forms of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Taking her to a party where the cops are called. Getting into a car accident. It doesn't even have to be about sex.

But, again, the laws are not about dating. There are no laws that say x age can't date y age. I agree you ask her parents first.

I agree with Curlyben - ask her father. He might be familiar with the dating laws - which I cannot find.
