Two days ago my boy obbie chewed to pieces then continued to ingested a tennis ball. He threw it up about an hour or two later (I never actually saw him eat it, I saw it in the vomit). He continued to vomit through out the day. That night he wouldn't eat but consumed massive amounts of water which he threw up immediately afterwards. Today he wouldn't eat or drink much at all, he managed to put back a little soft food I picked up for him but that too came back up a few hours after. It is now the end of day two, all vets are closed till Monday and he doesn't seem any better. He can't get comfortable or sleep, his stomach is making some loud grumbles, and he even seems slightly short of breath. I will have him in first thing Monday morning but does anybody have any sound advice for me? Please help me, my boy is my life :((

It sounds like he has a blockage, but that's just a guess, which is all we can do online.
He needs help now, not Monday. He may not make it until Monday. That's my opinion, based on what you wrote. Like I said, no one can diagnose online.
Most towns have an emergency vet. It's time to make that trip and pay the cost if you want to save your pet.
Good luck.

You're welcome. If he's passing stool it's likely not a blockage. My main concern is the tennis ball. Tennis balls are such a bad idea for dogs, especially if ingested.
I would still recommend the trip to the vet, always better to be safe than sorry.
Please keep me posted on how it goes, and good luck. :)

Hey Alty,
Obbie is doing great. It was just a stomach flu but the vet said he looks great today. I wish I could add a picture so you could see my happy boys :) I agree with the tennis ball comment. Those are for fetching not chewing at our house, but one must have been left laying around :/ I really appreciate your help through this, my dogs are my life and I didn't sleep a wink this weekend. Your posts on other people's question also seem to be pretty point on, it's nice to know there are people like you out there. You may here from me again someday but hopefully not too soon, haha. Thank you again. Take care.

So glad to hear he's doing well. I know how you feel about your animals being your life, mine are as well. I really wish they could talk so we wouldn't always have to worry when they're sick.
Thank you for your kind words. I'm very blunt, which isn't always well received, but I come here because of my love for animals, and that's usually my only concern. If I have to be mean sometimes, I have no problem doing that to save an animals life. Sadly, I've become a bit jaded throughout the years. Most times I'm harsh first, because most people aren't responsible pet owners. You are, which is so nice to see, it's a breath of fresh air. :)
You can post a picture. I'll post a link for instructions. I'd love to see your fur babies. :)
