I am looking for some films that appeared on TV, I think the series was called x-thriller, and all I can remember is that one was about a magician who placed himself in a coffin an passed through a furnace coming out the other side unscathed, until he upset his assistant and they didn't flick the switch to flip the coffin. The other one I can vaugely remember was set in a ski resort in the alps, people were being attacked by some alien that had been frozen and looked like a cross between an octopus and a jellyfish

The first one sounds like 'The Mad Magician'...
...The Great Rinaldi again schemes to steal a trick of Gallico's, an illusion involving a crematorium, and ultimately winds up burned to death in the process....

The second one sounds like:
The Crawling Eye, (aka The Trollenberg Terror, etc.)
....A remote mountain resort in Switzerland is invaded by horrible alien creatures that like to decapitate humans....
