Recently I was cleaning out my families attic and ran across this oil painting stuffed in a corner. Trying to find out if it is worth paying to have it restored. Signature looks like it says E. Wilson, but I don't know what the (29) stands for and can't find an E. Wilson in web sites that compare 20th century signatures. Can anyone help?

The 29 is probably a date, it could be 1929, 1829, sadly I don't know.

I'll do a search, but searching art on the internet is like looking for a needle in a haystack. It's all about typing in the right key words. It's not fun, and often doesn't provide the right results.

My advice would be to take this picture to an art dealer. That really would be your best bet.

As an artist, looking at the pictures, I would definitely restore them. Not because they're necessarily worth something, but because they're beautiful. :)
