Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive for the last 12 months and we have had one chemical pregnancy last August. I had recently been without a period for over 90 days, so my PA prescribed 10mg of Provera (for 5 days) to bring it back. Five days after taking the last pill, my period came back, and it was normal.
About 36 days ( I have been having 40-45 day cycles) after my period (and we were actively trying to conceive during this time), I experienced spotting. Initially, I had PMS type cramps and back pains.The first day it was almost black, and the second it progressed to a deep red. There was only a small flow, never enough to soak a pad or tampon. Red bleeding continued until the third day, and turned brown/black again on the fourth. The cramping and back pain subsided shortly after the spotting stopped. It has been 12 days since the spotting started, and I have taken 4 HPTs since then and all were negative. Is this the kind of spotting that Provera can cause? Could pregnancy be a possibility? Is it too early for an HPT to be positive?
