I have been marijuana free for 113days. I went for my preemployment drug testing. I had a urine split sample and a hair test they chopped two chunks out. The hair test goes back 90days. My fear is the drug metabolites... do you think I will pass within those time frames?
Thank-you for your input

Marijuana grows out with your hair - it doesn't wash out or wear out. Yes, it's in your hair. Of course, a LOT depends on how much you smoke.

You read that it grows out, right, that nothing else matters - ?

Yes I read that... I guess misunderstanding on the question. Do you know if 3 months is enough time for it to grow out to pass a hair clip test

You're probably safe at this point if all that you have said here is true.

No one can guarantee anything. That's the problem with illegal drugs and testing.
I've been in the legal business a long time - I'm not doubting you, I have no reason to doubt you, but "marijuana free for x days" when you've only smoked once in your life and that was a couple of puffs is an unusual phrasing.
It's usually, "I took 4 hits for the one and only time and ..."

One use is not going to fail you.
113 days is also beyond the 90 day point where the metabolites start to break down. The belief that once the THC is in your hair, it stays there without breaking down for the rest of your life as long as that hair is uncut is false. This is why labs can only test 90 days (the average is .5 inches per month so 1.5inches = 3 months = 90 days) because after 90 days, the metabolites break down and cause the test to be inconclusive.
If your story is true, then you will be fine. My advice going forward is: drop the MJ. I almost cost myself a great internship which will turn into a great job because of smoking during college. Fortunately, it was a small dosage over a short period. Most high-quality jobs/businesses are increasing their usage of hair tests for pre-employment screenings. You have too much to lose.
Disclaimer: I'm not calling you a chronic smoker, was generally speaking.

Please come back and post - in my area, by the way, an inconclusive is the same as a failure, but I am speaking about Government jobs.

Well I passed and got hired on a permanent basis. So thanks to everyone who responded and I will never put marijuana in my body again. Its dumb and not worth losing your livelihood. The amount of worry I went through is really not worth the trouble. I hope this info help some else out there in need.

Thank you for coming back and more than that, thanks for the words of advice. It is frustrating to see (which is not your case) the same person coming back to AMHD month after month with the same "I made a mistake and used and can I pass" question.
Glad you got the job!
