I've seen several references in posts here that say you need an adapter kit if replacing the powerhead when you have an "old style" valve but I've never seen any description as to how you tell if you have an "old style" or "new style" valve. So could someone please help? My valves is a V8043F 1036 and it also has the number 8033 on it. It probably dates back to 1980. Thanks.
