Hello:

Hollywood legend Ed Asner has outraged Republicans over this animated short (http://www.moveon.org/share/72e232/hollywood-legend-ed-asner-has-outraged-republicans).. I can't imagine why. Can you?

I can't imagine why anyone cares what Ed Asner thinks/says about anything. Well, he's getting lots of air time so maybe his career will be rejuvenated.

Is that the type of propaganda the California Federation of Teachers produce to indoctrinate California students? And they used the self proclaimed commie and 1%er Ed Asner... hmmm. I wonder if the California Dept Education thinks it's appropriate to have their teachers producing videos that depict people urinating on other people. I kind of doubt they do. But they are probably powerless to do something against the all powerful CFT .

It's the same thing I have been saying for years right down to the peeing on our heads and calling it trickle down economics.

The links are all over the web. Look up key words... Ed Asner... moonbat... Ed Asner propaganda video

Here is one to try...

Ed Asner Narrates Tax The Rich Propaganda Cartoon For California Teachers Union | The Lonely Conservative (http://lonelyconservative.com/2012/12/ed-asner-narrates-tax-the-rich-propaganda-cartoon-for-california-teachers-union/)

Tal it's fine for you to make that comparison. It's quite another for a Teacher's Union to use it in a propaganda... ooops I mean "educational" cartoon for their students... narrarated by Ed Asner;a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

We haven't even addressed the lies in the video like the 1% virtually paid virtually no taxes, even though over 70% of the tax receipts come from the top percent of taxpayers . The video claims that public schools have been defunded which is far from the truth . Public expenditures for public education has skyrocketted over the years. It's the return on the investment that should be challenged . Of course then it would demand accountability from the CFT .

If Asner weren't a rich hypocrite you might have a point. Here's your problem.. You think Al Gore shouldn't drive. You think Obama should VOLUNTEER to pay more taxes.. You think because Ed Asner is RICH, he shouldn't have an opinion on the poor..

Right wingers, of course, CAN have an opinion on the poor...

That's not it at all. Its more inline with those you have mentioned seem to want to tell us what to do and they don't do it or exempt themselves from it. That is where the hypocrisy comes from. Like how under examination you will see the GOP tends to give more money out of pocket to the needy where the dems want to give away other peoples money and covet their own.

Here's your problem, you attempt to speak for me instead of me speaking for myself. I don't care if Al drives and I've already said no one should pay more taxes than they owe - it's YOU that whines about "handouts" you don't get - and I respect everyone's right to an opinion. Got it?

The difference between me and Ed Asner and co. is if I were as rich as they are I wouldn't have the audacity to b*tch about rich people as I weren't one of them. If I were demanding everyone pay their "fair share" I would be the first to pitch mine in, and if were concerned about man-made climate change I'd do something besides get rich off it.

As for the poor I lead by example, I don't take from you to give to them.

Um, the rock throwers here are the ones that are the subject of this post. I realize you lefties think if only we'd just be docile and silent and know our place under your feet that all would be well, but we're just stubborn that way. I never quite learned that turn the other cheek thingy.

As it was the Sheriff's job to keep the peasants from poaching the king's deer I would think he would be your hero.

They aren't the ones the video accuse. Had he mentioned ,in his narrative ,the role of government in destroying the economy at least he would've been closer to the truth .
Asner is a shill with an agenda.. But this video was just a pay day for him. I fault the teacher's union for commissioning this steaming pile of manure.

If corporations are people too, then why can't unions be people too? And at least you can elect your union officials, but try that with a CEO. Let me know how that works for you!

Hmmm? If I remember correctly, your boss pays you about what your union brothers make, or he couldn't keep good help.

Just saying.

tomder55
Apr 24, 2013, 09:10 AM
Unions were people before corporations were. No one was complaining about their political contributions and trying to control them ;and public unions are even worse . They contribute to the same people that they will eventually sit across the collective bargaining table from... a conflict of interest that borders on the criminal.

talaniman
Apr 24, 2013, 09:19 AM
Well hell, if the rich guys can have a voice, a seat at the table, and a say so about wages and working conditions why can' the little guys? That's not a conflict of interest and contributions are voluntary, and a matter of public record.

Conflicts of interest that borders on criminal are the lobbyists, and former congressional aides and there bosses who end up working for the same companies that contributed to their election, and re-election campaigns.

speechlesstx
Apr 24, 2013, 09:49 AM
I take it that's definitely a yes, you're OK with rich union types buying off politicians. Hard to convince people to jump on your bandwagon when your complaint is that selective.

And speaking of rich union types, Sally Jo Widmer was the head of the Aubirn Teachers Assn for more than 35 years. When she died last year former Auburn mayor Guy Cosentino praised her as “a true union leader who put her union first and personal niceties second.”

But she certainly didn't put her checkbook second...

Union leaders: former Auburn Teachers Association president used $800,000 in union funds for gambling, trips (http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2013/04/union_leaders_former_auburn_te.html)

Of course what union chief wouldn't put their own wallet first?

tomder55
Apr 24, 2013, 10:06 AM
