My daughter suffered an impact from a softball pitching machine. She is 10. It hit her right foot 3 times. The foot/toe does not have much bruising but there is still swelling and it is red. She is experiencing intense stabbing and throbbing. She had it x rayed at her doctors. But they did not see a fracture. It is now the 3rd day and the swelling is not better neither is the pain despite using Rest, ice, compression and elevation. Should I get another opinion.

I broke two toes in June. The toes were red, swollen, got better, were painful, that got better. Then the pain got really bad (suddenly), I went in to the Doctor and had my foot x-rayed. I ended up having surgery in January (after all else failed) and having the joints broken and the toes realigned.

I am now just beginning to wear "regular" shoes.
