To whom it may concern,

I did not realize about my five-year-old speeding ticket, for which I paid the fine, until days after getting the citizenship certificate. Consequently, nothing about it was disclosed during the entire process of naturalization for I truly believed I had nothing to hide. Could there be some repercussion for this kind of stupidity? If any, what can I do to fix it? I appreciate any word of suggestion.

Additional info:
My local uscis office has same day oath system, thus three was little to no chance of going back the memory lane.
In fact I remembered this ticket days after the oath ceremony quite by accident.

Thank you in advance.

You paid the ticket. You should have no worries at all, even though it was a misdemeanor. And forgetting to mention it if you were asked about arrests, convictions, felonies, or misdemeanors should be understood, especially since it was just one.

Hi joypulv,

Thank you for your reply.
Now that I know about this ticket, do I still need to take some kind of action such as reporting what happened to USCIS?
I apologize for the bombardment, but it might not hurt to seek out some opinions/advice
Instead of jumping to making actions prematurely.

Thank you so much for your assistance in advance.

I'm sorry about duplicated posting; I had not directly replied to your comment with the other post.

Traffic ticket records are not police records. The DMV is separate. Don't worry about it. Don't contact anyone.

Thank you very kindly.
I suppose there isn't much to do at this point other than to just live my life hoping that I can regain some peace of mind as time goes on.

Thank you again.

Most sincerely,
