I have a room just of my basement bathroom that houses both a sewage ejector pump and tank and a sump pump and pit. When I open the door to the closet there is a very strong smell like varsol or paint. Sewage tank drains properly and seems to be working fine and no noticeable problems with the septic tank. Any help would be appreciated...

Sewage is stinky. See if you can get a better fitting cover for your sump, and see if there is anything you can do with the ejector pump. Enzyme treatments can be added to the pits to help "eat" stinky bacteria, and reduce stink. Janitorial supply stores can help with that as well as other odor control measures to help mask or eliminate odors. Give them a try.

Just like Scott said, make sure the lid has good seal. Seals should be around each penetration through the lid. Sewer ejector has to be vented. Make sure its vent is not combined with other house vents. Lastly, sewer ejector should be cleaned (serviced) about every year.
Hope that helps / Back to you / Milo
