Our maytag washer filled with water and then quit working. No blown fuses. Other power supply did not fix the problem. Washer is totally dead. Could not find a fuse within the washer and schematic showed only an "optional" fuse which did not seem to be on our model. I think the problem is in the power on/cycle selecting unit, but they are expensive to replace so looking for conformation that it is probably the problem.

You either have a bad fill switch/level control, lid switch, or a problem with the timer. Look at these: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8010163/Maytag%20Washers.zip

You will have to use a meter to find out if the fill switch/water level control is bad. It has a switch that first sends power to the water valves and then to timer, it's the second part that's bad. It sends power to the water valves and then when it's time to send power to the timer it fails. But it also goes through the lid switch before reaching the timer, so if it's bad it will cause the same symptom.
