There have been a few times throughout the past month or two, where I have taken my birth control pill a few hours late. 2 nights ago, I couldn't take my birth control pill, so last night I doubled up on it. Today I had unprotected sex. What are the chances that I will be pregnant? I am only 16, and I will be 17 in June. I have been on birth control since July 2012, and for the most part I have taken it consistently, but there have been a few times where I've taken it several hours late. I take the birth control pill Cryselle. I guess I would just like to know, what are the chances that I will be pregnant in this situation? (considering I took two pills last night to make up for the missed night, and I had unprotected sex today.

Didn't anyone teach you birth control pills are only somewhat effective if you take them on time... much less if you don't. They are NEVER 100% effective.

They also don't protect you from Genital warts, Herpes, AIDS or any other STD.

So the answer to your question is you could be...

Incidentally you could take them on time, every time... AND use condoms... and still get pregnant.

We have a moderator who is a OB/GYN in real life that has happened to several times. And other moderators that have as well.

Can you give me like an estimate of how likely it is that I could be pregnant? Like what % chance is it that I could be pregnant in this situation?

Nobody can possibly do that... too many variables.

You can't even give me a rough estimate? You got to know something

If anyone gave you any number we would be telling you a lie.

Do you want the truth or a lie? I'd rather give you the truth.

And honestly... about numbers and statistics... one of those people I mentioned... the Registered nurse... had cancer... went through chemo... doctors proclaimed her to be forever sterile as a result... she got pregnant after all that... so not only did she get pregnant twice while using three forms of birth control... she also got pregnant after she was supposed to be sterile.

The moral behind that true story is... if there is ANY possibility at all no matter how remote... its going to happen to someone. We don't know if that someone is you this time or not.
